Multi-sensor Snow and Ice Cover Map

From NOAA Satellite and Information Service:

This Multi-sensor Snow and Ice Cover map, created on December 6, 2016, shows snow cover creeping South across the United States as several winter storms move in. This map is produced by combining data from several on orbit satellites, including NOAA's GOES, the Air Force's DMSP, and EUMETSAT's Metop satellites.

According to the National Weather Service, blizzard conditions are expected to persist over portions of the northern Plains through midday today (12/7). Strong winds and very cold temperatures will also yield sub-zero wind chill readings and blowing snow. Further east, Lake Effect Snow Warnings are in effect for portions of western New York. Snowfall amounts of 2 to 3 feet are possible late week into the weekend. For the latest weather update, please visit www.weather.gov.
